Sweating is an entirely natural, healthy process and your body’s way of responding to heat. However, some people suffer from excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). This can be hereditary, a response to a particular medication or the symptom of an underlying disease. If you are in any way concerned by the amount you sweat, we recommend you consult your doctor.
Deodorants do not stop you sweating, but they help to prevent body odour. Body odour is caused when bacteria break down sweat metabolites on our skin, producing volatile odorants perceived by our nose (olfactory system). Deodorants contain substances that inhibit bacterial growth (a process known as bacteriostasis) and reduce the number of potentially odour-causing bacteria. Some deodorants also contain perfumes which can help to mask/cover up unpleasant smells.
Yes. Eucerin’s deodorant has been specially formulated to be gentle on sensitive underarm skin. The skin under our arms is particularly prone to irritation after shaving (and other types of hair removal) due to micro lesions, so using a deodorant that is free from aluminium, alcohol, colourants and parabens helps to minimise sensitivity. Eucerin’s deodorant for sensitive skin has been clinically proven to be compatible with sensitive skin and is suitable for those with deodorant intolerance and/or Atopic Dermatitis. It doesn’t sting, and leaves skin feeling fresh and protected.
Eucerin deodorants have been designed to be highly tolerant so they’re ideal if you have a skin condition like atopic dermatitis or psoriasis or have very sensitive skin. The intensive anti-transpirants, meanwhile, are highly efficient, providing long-lasting protection for people with strong or excessive sweating.
