How it works
The main active ingredient is Urea: the ‘gold standard’ for dry skin treatment. Urea is a humectant (meaning it attracts water to the skin). It also increases the water-binding capacity of the skin and helps to maintain its barrier function. This improves elasticity and protects against moisture loss (known as transepidermal water loss or TEWL).
The Eucerin UreaRepair PLUS complex combines Urea with Ceramides, Gluco-Glycerol and other NMF that support Urea’s efficacy. Skin-identical Ceramides forms a protective lipid envelope to protect the outer layers of skin and enhance barrier function, while Gluco-Glycerol improves the distribution of water in deeper epidermal layers thereby hydrating skin from the inside out. This combination of moisturizing and lipid-replenishing ingredients provides excellent support for dry skin.

Why do I need a special dry skin lotion for dry, rough skin?
A moisturizer specially formulated for dry, rough skin should be rich in the ingredients that skin needs to prevent moisture loss, bind in more water and strengthen its protective barrier. Left untreated or treated with a product that doesn’t contain the appropriate ingredients, skin might dry out further and may even crack.
